Instead of what is important

I have decided to write on my blog instead of write my essay due tomorrow at 8 in the morning.  I thought I would talk about the neat opportunities I have had while in college.  Tonight I went and listened to Art Spiegelman talk about comics and how they are used as not only pieces of art but narratives.  For those of you that don't know Art Spiegelman wrote Maus, which is a graphic novel about being a son of a holocaust survivor.  It is a great tale and extremely hard to put down once you start reading it.

Not only have I had the opportunity to see Spiegelman and others but college campuses are often grounds for politics.  This year I was lucky to see both Obama and Bill Clinton speak.  Though I am sure I have differing views on politics with many reading this and also with these politicians, it was a great experience!  I not only saw a past president speak but a potential future president; it was awesome!

College has not only given me a chance to listen to people I probably wouldn't normally get to but also has given me great opportunities for me to grow as a person.  I have taken it in to my own hands to volunteer for different things, join different clubs, and participate in different activities.  I think the biggest thing college has taught me is to think for myself.
